Just like many of you all may have also done, I made goals to eat healthier at the start of the new year. I have really been trying to make strides to rotate in at least two new healthy recipes into my meal plan each week to keep things fresh. And like many of you all, I often find my inspiration for new recipes to try from Pinterest. In fact, I created an entire board to dedicated to just Healthy & Tasty Recipes.

One of my favorite sites to browse for new recipes is Kroger's Inspired Gathering site. Recently, I was searching for some hearty and healthy soup recipes and came across the recipe for this Creamy Mushroom & Lentil Soup on their site. Usually when I pin a new recipe to try to one of my Pinterest boards, I open up my notes on my iPhone and type up a list of the ingredients I need to pick up at the store to make it. But thanks to the new Board to Table app (available for iOS), I can add all the ingredients I need to make a new recipe straight from the pin to the shopping list on my Kroger app with just one swipe of my finger. You all, the Board to Table app is a game changer for those of us obsessed with finding new recipes to try on Pinterest! ;)

You simply pull up the pin of the recipe you plan on shopping for. Then you click Add All Ingredients to List, and it creates an editable shopping list. If you already have staples on hand (think salt, pepper, flour, spices, etc.), you can delete those from the list. 

One you have your list of ingredients set, simply choose your shopping list and press Continue. All the ingredients you need to pick up while grocery shopping will then be instantly transferred to your shopping list on your Kroger app. Easy, peasy! No typing up a list on on your iPhone or scribbling down a shopping list on a sheet of paper. 

Ready to get started with Board to Table? Before you download the app, here are a few things to take note of first...

  • Board to Table is only available for iOS.
  • You must have both the Pinterest and the Kroger apps downloaded to your phone in order for the Board to Table app to work.
  • Board to Table can only pull ingredient lists from Rich pins. How do you know if a pin is a Rich Pin? The ingredients will be listed below the photo on the pin.
  • Board to Table is a new app in customer trial mode. Only a limited number of customers will be able to download it, so act now!
  • If you have a lot of Pinterest pins, it might take a few minutes for all of them to load.

Creamy Mushroom & Lentil Soup

Cook Time: 50 minutes
Ingredients (Serves 6)
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ medium onion, chopped
  • 8 oz. Simple Truth Organic Whole Baby Bella Mushrooms, rinsed and sliced
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. ground pepper
  • ¾ tsp. dried tarragon
  • 1 carton (32 oz.) Simple Truth Organic Vegetable Broth
  • 1 cup Simple Truth Organic green lentils, rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz.) Simple Truth Organic cannellini beans, pureed with liquids from can
Instructions
Heat the olive oil over medium-high heat in a large pot or Dutch oven. Once heated, add in the garlic and onion. Sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add in the sliced mushrooms and sauté another 5-7 minutes.

Season the mushrooms, onion and garlic with the salt, pepper and tarragon, and sauté for another minute. Pour in the vegetable broth, pureed cannellini beans and lentils. Bring to a boil. Cover, and then turn down the heat and simmer for 30 minutes or until the lentils are tender.

Ladle into bowls, serve and enjoy!
