We may be a family on a budget, but we are also a family who knows the value of good quality... especially when it comes to pieces of furniture for the home.
I mean, let's be honest. Home furnishings is definitely one area of the home that you do not want to sacrifice quality for in order to save a few bucks. A good piece of furniture can last a lifetime and beyond as it is handed down from one generation to the next! :)
A good, quality piece of furniture has the potential to become a family heirloom, and you cannot put a price tag on that.

But when you are a family who happens to be on a budget, you do have to find ways to save money elsewhere in order to free up your home decor budget for those important quality furniture pieces. That is why I searched the web and found 7 of the best DIY budget friendly home decor accents for you all. Most of these do not require a crazy amount of "expert" DIY skills (which is a relief for this craft/DIY challenged mama here!). And most of these can be done for around $30 or less, freeing up more of your home improvement budget for beautiful furnishings like those you can find at Havertys! :) And I happened to match each of these little hands-on decor projects with some of my favorite furniture pieces from Havertys...

~Let Me Pintroduce You~ The Crafty Edition

Okay, so crafting isn't exactly my thing.  I would much rather be baking, canning, cooking, or concocting a new recipe in my kitchen.  But I occasionally do like the satisfaction (and hey, pride!) I feel when I actually decide to take on a DIY craft and I complete it!  And... it doesn't look like a preschooler made it?  Bonus! ;)

I have been fortunate to have a couple of fabulous sponsors this month who happen to have a wee bit more of a crafting bone than I- Mia from The Chronicles of Chaos and Kristine from The Foley Fam and J and M's Eye Candy Shoppe.  (Psssttt.... Kristine's crafting board is chock full of her OWN tutorials!  She is one talented and crafty lady.  If you don't believe me, make sure you click on the link to her etsy shop. ;) )
Let's get crafting, shall we?

(I love this and have a couple of knitters in mind to make this for.)

(Genius!  So doing this next summer after we sit down & make our bucket list.)

(Don't chuck out that old frame!  It could be repurposed into this^^^!)

Believe it or not, I do have a crafting board that I have pinned projects to that I actually think this craft-challenged blogger (me!) could attempt to make.  Go see what has caught my eye on my I Might Try Being Crafty Board. ;)

Make sure you give Kristine's and Mia's boards and visit and find a little crafty pinspiration for yourself!
