For years, Pillsbury™ Grands! Cinnamon Rolls has been a go-to of ours for lazy weekend mornings, snow days from school, and holiday breakfasts. They are so simple to make (the kiddos often help), they get on the breakfast table quick, and my entire family loves them. They have become a family breakfast tradition, and often-times they are the quickest way to get my late riser of a son out of bed earlier on the weekend. ;)

Typically I don't mess too much with a good thing, but we do like to change things up just a little here & there. My youngest (who is now 4 years old) loves to "help" her mama in the kitchen.

So on one Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago, I thought why not turn our favorite Pillsbury™ Grands! Cinnamon Rolls into some fun Grands! Snowmen Cinnamon Rolls that Little Miss could help me decorate once they were done baking?

The results were not only delicious, but they also totally left my daughter tickled pink! :) She was so proud to present our very well decorated snowmen shaped cinnamon rolls to her sleepy head daddy and brother...

"No matter how things change, what makes us wholesome never will."
Life is funny sometimes.  You set out with a plan.... how you think your life, your family will look and grow. And then just like that, life takes you in a different direction & down a new path.  Sometimes the change is welcome. Sometimes it is a kick to the gut and takes your breath away, leaving you with doubt about what your new plan for life will look like.
I have experienced both such changes that sent me in new directions in my life and helped shape how I now define family. What I now value as wholesome.

And today, I am reflecting on this as I celebrate National Step Family Day with my family with a little help from Honey Maid snacks...

Baby girl is full swing into the "No, me do it!" stage.  And she pretty much wants to do ALL the things for herself all the time.
Pour milk from a gallon jug? Yep!
Feed the cats in the morning? You betcha.
Brush her teeth? Check.
Any other mamas of a two year old feeling me on this one? ;)

Obviously, she is at the stage of toddlerhood when she most wants to assert her independence.  And while we certainly can't allow her to try and pour herself a glass of milk from a gallon jug on her own, we can encourage her to try brushing her teeth on her own.
