With just a few simple ingredients, you can make this creamy & dreamy Chocolate Chip Waffle Cone Ice Cream- no ice cream maker needed!

Can we talk about ice cream makers for a sec, folks?
I own one. When I first bought it, I used it religiously every time I wanted to make a batch of homemade ice cream.

Then one day a very important and necessary piece went missing.
After a good amount of online researching (and actual searching of every nook & cranny in my kitchen), I came to find out that it would just be cheaper to buy an entirely new ice cream maker than just purchase the missing part.

I put off buying a new ice cream maker.  And the one with a missing a part went to a back corner of my kitchen cabinet to gather dust.
No homemade ice cream was enjoyed in our home for months.
(Cue the sad violin music.)

And then one day, I was done with it. I sought out homemade ice cream recipes from some of my favorite food bloggers- ones that did not require an ice cream maker, aka no churn ice creams.

From my first batch, I was hooked and never looked back.
I even miraculously found the missing piece to the dusty ice cream maker a couple of months ago. But yet the ice cream maker still sits, gathering dust.
The moral of the story?

4 Ingredient No Churn Vanilla Ice Cream

No ice cream maker is needed for this simple & creamy 4 Ingredient No Churn Vanilla Ice Cream...

No ice cream maker is needed for this simple & creamy 4 Ingredient No Churn Vanilla Ice Cream.

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Why does vanilla ice cream always seem to get the reputation of being boring and plain?
While I have created my fair share of homemade ice cream recipes with unusual flavors and combinations, I always come back to creamy, comforting vanilla.

There is something pure and familiar about it... like your mama's Sunday pot roast or your favorite quilt.

But while vanilla ice cream can be nostalgic and simple, we also seem to forget that it the single most flavor of ice cream that gets to have all the fun. ;)

I mean, think of hot fudge sundaes piled high with whipped cream and topped with a cherry.
Or how about a slice of warm homemade apple pie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream?

The ice cream starts to melt and meld with the apples and cinnamon creating a "sauce" you just have to slurp from the plate after you have ate the last bite of pie.

And milkshakes... don't even get me started on the milkshakes!
About a trillion different milkshake flavors start with a few scoops of simple, "plain" vanilla ice cream.

Hi, I'm Deb from Cooking On the Front Burner and am excited today to be guest posting at Carrie's blog as part of her Virtual Ice Cream Social Week!  I've known Carrie for awhile now and her blog is a great place to come for some wonderful recipes, Marvelous Monday and of course, my favorite, the Spiked! Recipe Challenge.  In fact, I can't wait to see what the ingredient will be for July.... (and I was thrilled when my Strawberry Margarita Shortcake was selected as a top pick last month).

Now that summer is officially here, one of our favorite things to do is go out for a scoop or two.  I'm not picky - I like Dairy Queen, Culvers, Cold Stone, Flapdoodles (local) or even an occasional cone from Mickey D's!

But now..... I own this!

Yep, I decided to take the plunge.  I've seen so many good ice cream recipes from Pinterest that I know I want to try so I thought, why not!  Last Saturday I drove to Kohl's (with my coupon), picked this up, came home and tried to sneak it in the house.  No luck, I was met at the garage door by the DIY Guy.  He took one look and said "I suppose that is for something you are blogging about?" and I said "Yes" then he said "Well, I get to eat the goods so I don't mind"....  whew!  It all worked out

Since this was the first time I was using it, I decided on plain vanilla to play it safe!  I was very pleased with the results and now thinking of other flavors to try next.  I do love sprinkles so I think that jazzed it up a bit... do you?
