If there is just one universal snack that I think just about everyone can agree on, it has to be popcorn. Am I right? 

Popcorn can be served just about anytime, anywhere, and for any occasion. A movie night in? Check! A family game night? Check! Birthday parties? Check! (In fact, I have made a themed popcorn recipe for just about every one of my daughter's birthday parties.) An easy afternoon snack? Check!

And while I am always down for a good microwave popped kettle corn or a super buttery bucket of movie theater popcorn, I also love fun & unique popcorn recipe ideas. Sweet & salty flavor combos are usually my absolute fave, but I haven't been known to turn down a handful or two of the savory varieties. ;)

With the school year about to start back up for us, making time as a family is going to become a little more challenging. And with a three year old and a soon-to-be seventeen year old, finding something we can do together as a family and that we can all actually enjoy can become even more challenging. One thing that we do love to do together? Watch movies! :) 

That is why we try to plan a family movie night at least once a month. Whether it is heading to the theater to catch the new Fantastic Four movie or having a movie night-in, a family movie night is a guaranteed two hours or so of quality time together.

And what is a family movie night without the popcorn? Before our latest movie night-in, I headed to my local Walmart to pick up some of our favorite microwave popcorn- Pop Secret Homestyle Popcorn. While we love Pop Secret as is freshly popped from the microwave, sometimes I like to turn our favorite popcorn into a fun treat for the family.
