Spiced Pomegranate Apple Cider Sangria

Warm spices, sweet pomegranate, and crisp apples come together perfectly in this Spiced Pomegranate Apple Cider Sangria...

Warm spices, sweet pomegranate, and crisp apples come together perfectly in this Spiced Pomegranate Apple Cider Sangria. It will become your go-to cocktail for holiday entertaining!

While I know that the turkey, and all the sides, and the pumpkin pie are the stars of that big turkey day coming up next week, I do firmly believe that a Thanksgiving dinner menu is not complete until a fall festive cocktail has been added to the mix. ;)

Usually, we pick up a bottle of wine that will pair well with turkey for our Thanksgiving dinner, but this year I am changing things up just a bit.

We will still be sticking with the wine, but I am jazzing it up with fresh pomegranate, apples, and lots of spice in this easy-to-make sangria recipe that I am sharing with you all today.

I know most people think of sangria as just a warm weather thing, but why should summer get all the boozy fun of this delicious cocktail? The fall season offers such wonderful flavors that lend themselves perfectly to a good homemade sangria.

Since I have been on such a pomegranate kick lately, I really made it the star of this sangria with the addition of pomegranate vodka, pomegranate juice, and fresh pomegranate seeds. The apple cider, spiced rum, and cinnamon smooths out the entire cocktail making for easy sipping for your Thanksgiving feast next week... :)

As some of you all already know, I have been a recipe contributor for Real Housemoms since August of last year. I am always looking for ways to improve upon and grow this little blog of mine, but I had no idea when I joined Aubrey's talented team of bloggers just how much it would do for Frugal Foodie Mama and for my growth personally as a blogger.

For Aubrey, having blog contributors isn't just about curating fresh and new content for her own blog. She has been amazing in promoting and supporting the work that we all do on our own individual blogs.

While I would definitely categorize Aubrey of Real Housemoms as one of the "big bloggers" out there, she has remained down to earth and is always so generous and open with sharing her experience and knowledge with each of us.

Today, myself and other members of the RH team are celebrating Aubrey on her birthday by sharing with you all recipes, crafts, and tutorials that have all been inspired by Aubrey and some of her favorite things.

If you are already a Real Housemoms fan, you may have noticed her fondness for sangria recipes.  I knew I wanted to come up with a cake (because what is a birthday without cake?) inspired by one of her favorite cocktails.

When I came across her recipe for Tropical Moscato Sangria, I knew I had found my recipe inspiration. ;)  This easy to make poke cake is spiked with white wine mango gelatin and then topped off with a fruity whipped topping frosting...

Cucumber-Mint Green Tea Sangria

This Cucumber-Mint Green Tea Sangria is a refreshing & minty twist on a summer cocktail classic...

This Cucumber-Mint Green Tea Sangria is a refreshing & minty twist on a summer cocktail classic.

Does anyone else feel like Labor Day weekend is the last hurrah of summer?
It is usually the last big BBQ of the summer.  The last weekend that the public swimming pools and water parks are open. The last three day weekend with warm temps and summer sunshine.

Well if you are planning a little get-together or a huge cookout for the long holiday weekend, I have the perfect pitcher of deliciousness to serve up- this Cucumber-Mint Green Tea Sangria!

It is refreshing & packed with all kinds of good stuff from the fresh mint, cucumber slices, and green tea.  I mean, I am not trying to tout this as a "healthy" cocktail.  But it is WAY better for you then some of those other summer cocktails out there. ;)

Plus, it is just so easy to make! You can start infusing the green tea with the mint and cucumber the morning of your BBQ, and then simply add the chilled Moscato about 30 minutes before serving...
