Game day happens to be family time in our home. It doesn't matter which teams are playing or who wins or loses (okay, my husband just may disagree with me on that one depending on who is playing exactly ;) ), the big game is always the perfect opportunity to invite family over and to hang out.

It also happens to be the perfect excuse to whip up a tasty game day menu, and what game day menu is complete without a sweet treat to share like this very appropriate Chocolate Fudge Football Brownie?

Not only is this fudgy football brownie the perfect dessert for your game day party, it is also crazy easy to make thanks to a little help from Pillsbury™'s Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix & Creamy Supreme® Frostings! :)

So easy in fact, that I got my husband and daughter in on the brownie making fun. Usually it is just me in the kitchen prepping the game day menu, but we thought why not mix it up a little & start the game day fun a little early with a family baking session?

Before planning our latest game day get-together, I headed to my local Walmart to stock up on my family's Pillsbury™ baking favorites- their Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix and their Creamy Supreme® Frostings in Vanilla and Chocolate Fudge. :)

Little Miss was thrilled to be our little helper in the kitchen for game day. She earned the title of official brownie batter mixer. ;) And later, she was so proud to present our party guests with the fun football brownie that she helped make with Mommy & Daddy

prep time: 15 min cook time: 25 min total time: 40 min

ingredients:

  • Pillsbury Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix (13x9 Family Size)
  • 2/3 cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 eggs
  • Pillsbury Creamy Supreme Frosting in Chocolate Fudge
  • Pillsbury Creamy Supreme Frosting in Vanilla

instructions:

How to cook Chocolate Fudge Football Brownie

  1. Prepare the brownie mix according to the package directions. Place 2 wide strips of parchment paper inside an oval baking dish (I used a 2.8L ceramic baking dish)- one lengthwise and the other across the middle. Then spray the inside of the baking dish and the strips of parchment paper with cooking spray. Spread the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until the edges are crisp and the center is set. Allow to cool almost completely.
  2. Run a butter knife all along the edges of the baking dish, and then carefully lift the whole brownie from the dish to a cutting board or serving platter using the two strips of parchment paper. Carefully remove the parchment paper.
  3. Using a decorative tip with a large opening (I used a French tip) & a pastry bag, frost the entire brownie with the chocolate fudge frosting. (Alternatively, you could just spread the frosting over the entire thing with an offset spatula. It won't be as pretty, but it will do the job and be just as delicious! ;) )
  4. Using about 1/3 cup to 1/2 cup of the vanilla frosting, pipe the stripes and laces onto the football brownie over top of the chocolate fudge frosting. I used a large round tip for this.
  5. Cut into 12-15 brownies & serve. Store any leftover brownies loosely covered.
  6. Enjoy!
