Summer Blog Challenge, Day 46- Can You Guess What My Favorite Room in My House Is?

Yeah, this shouldn't be a hard one to guess... it is definitely my kitchen. ;)  I actually love the kitchen that I have now, and am kind of sad that I only get to enjoy it for another 7 months.  It has a very sleek retro look.  I love the electric stove top, and the in-wall oven.  I love the chrome finish detailing.  I mean, how awesome are the drawer and cabinet knobs??
I spent the entire first year that my husband and I were together in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment with the teensy, tiniest kitchen EVER.  It was torture for me.
This kitchen is perfect.

My beloved butcher block coffee cart.  My first stop every morning after I take the dog out. ;)

The kitchen island/wine rack.  This has been foodie central for me since we moved in this house.  Usually my laptop is open on top of the island with a recipe I am following or one that I am creating and typing up as I go.  Unfortunately, this particular kitchen island is my landlord's and stays when we leave. :( (See the stool?  I picked that up at a yard sale for 2 bucks!)

This is my "tool" box. ;) Filled with all my spices, probably about half of them being from Penzeys Spices.

So, what room in your home is your favorite?

  1. Your kitchen looks great. Maybe if I had one like yours I'd be anxious to work in it also!

  2. I love the little utensil holders over your stove - they keep things off of your counters but look cute too!

    1. My landlord already had those there when we moved in. She said she got the holder itself at IKEA. I guess it had little plastic containers in it when she purchased it, and she found ceramic planters to use instead. :) She was afraid the plastic ones might melt from the heat of the stove

  3. What a great kitchen! I can see why you enjoy baking and cooking there!

I like the spice holder. That's a clever way to keep them all together and organized.

I used to have one of the wall ovens, except it was the "junior-bake" size rather than a standard size one. I couldn't even fit in a cookie sheet it was so narrow in width. I liked how it was at eye level, though - made it so much easier on my back.

    1. The spice holder is actually a metal bread box that I bought at Target.

The wall oven is not full-sized unfortunately. My favorite baking sheet will not fit in it. ;P

  5. I love the island! And your kitchen seems roomy. Mine is small.
