Thankful Challenge 2012 ~The Boy Who Made Me a Mother~

Today and everyday I am thankful for my son.  He is who made me a mother over 14 years ago.  In fact, it was the day after Christmas Eve almost 15 years ago that I found out of his tiny existence within me.  We had been trying for nearly a year, and I was actually convinced when I took the pregnancy test that I wasn't pregnant... again.  But there was that plus sign, and the start of what would be one of the best things I will ever do in my life... be his mother.
After my first marriage ended, it was my son and I for over 8 years.  Now that I am remarried and there is a baby girl in the picture, I try to make time to just have a few mother/son dates each month.
My son and I are goofy together most of the time.  (I know, that photo up there ^^^ gives no indication of that, right? ;) )  We like to run through the toy aisle pressing the buttons on all the singing toys along the way and giggling when we look back and see the entire aisle blinking, beeping, wiggling, and singing.
He is no longer the little boy I reminiscence about in the photos above.  He is now more of a young man than a boy.  (If you don't believe me, go up there and take a look at my profile photo for my blog. ;) )  I am so proud of the man that he is becoming.  I am grateful that I am blessed with him in my life.

Who are you thankful for today?

  1. Awww. It looks like you too have a great relationship and a great time together. The goofiness reminds me of my cousin and her son. :)
