Most days it is all fairy wings, tutus, and pixie dust here with my little girl.  Needless to say when we found out that Disney's The Pirate Fairy is coming out on Blu-Ray & DVD on April 1st, we were both pretty excited.  We have seen every single Pixie Hollow movie at least 5 times.  And honestly, I may be just a little more excited about the bonus DVD that comes with The Pirate Fairy when you purchase it at your local Walmart- The Pixie Hollow Bake Off!
I am a long time fan of The Food Network & all their cooking challenges, so I found it super cute that Giada de Laurentis is the voice of Gelata, the head baking fairy. :)

To get geared up for the release of the DVD (and for the magical bake off!), I created a sparkling, healthy dessert inspired by the Blue Pixie Dust stolen by the Pirate Fairy and that the fairies of Pixie Hollow need to retrieve to save their home.

Who else has kiddos excited for the DVD release of Disney's FROZEN the movie next week?
And who are we kidding, parents?  We are all just excited as the kids are for this one, right? ;)

Baby girl and I decided to start getting geared up for the big DVD release by heading to our local Walmart earlier this week for a few new FROZEN toys.  You really can't have too many, you know...
We were on the lookout for an Olaf plush doll, but people really do adore that lovable snowman.  Anything Olaf has been flying off the shelves.
But she did find an adorable Baby Anna doll to love on among a few other things... :)

Summer Blog Challenge, Day 55- 3 Easy & Healthy Snacks for the Kiddos

Today's prompt is to tell about 3 easy & healthy snacks for toddlers or children.  One of our go-to healthy snacks in this house is apple slices with peanut butter.  We love that nifty little gadget that lets you core and slice an apple all in one swift whack. ;) We plop a dollop of peanut butter in the center of a bowl and then arrange the apple slices around it. Then you just dip and snack.  Sometimes we make it a little extra special and sprinkle mini chocolate chips over the peanut butter.  (Ummmm... this is also one of my favorite snacks, so it is adult friendly too?)

We also like to do vanilla yogurt "sundaes".  We scoop vanilla yogurt into bowls, and then we each top our's with whichever toppings we prefer.  Granola, chocolate chips, banana slices, a squirt of chocolate syrup, pecans... Or a combination of any of these. ;)

And one snack that we especially enjoy during these hot summer days is frozen grapes.  Just rinse off and drain your grapes in a colander, dry with a paper towel, and freeze in freezer bags overnight.  The next day you have a healthy and refreshing snack!

What are some of your go-to healthy snacks for your family?
